It seems that the Internet has the answers or at least educated guesses to nearly all of the questions of our time. Can we consider it the modern-day version of the Library of Alexandria?

That's an interesting parallel. At the time of that library we hear tell was in Alexandria, it was possible to collect all the books (scrolls) which had been published in a particular language up to that time in one building. The nearest modern equivalent would be the Library of Congress in the US, or the libraries of other governments.

But the Internet is sort of like a hyper-library. It is so much more accessible to all than any library housed in a building can be.

NO. The internet is just a bunch of pointless opinions from people who write stuff they know nothing about, but think they're experts. The library at Alexandria contained actual knowledge.

I don't think the Library of Alexandria had this much...Adult material in it...but I guess it could be like that.

you could probably make a good argument that it IS the new Library of Alexandria, and some other people have answered...

You could also call it the english quabala... lol

Now finally a truly thought provoking and interesting question. Believe it or not though, sometimes I'm led round and round in circles just to get repeat information that I wasn't seeking and do not get an answer to the question.

It's easy to use and very convenient but the accuracy is questionable. Perhaps if it caught on fire we could make the connection. lol
