Yes it can, it did several people I know, and they had to go back and get it changed. After having it changed one got a new one that made her a ***** from hell, and she had to get it changed again.

Birth control does not "make" you gain weight. It limits the hormones that signal your brain that tells you that you're full and should stop eating. So while you're on birth control, your appetite increases. If you ate exactly the same thing before being on birth control and after, you would not gain weight. When I was on the pill I gained weight. I would suggest checking with your doctor on options that would assist you with your concerns.

some people do, and it also depends on the type of pill you are on. i`m on yasmin and only gained like 2 lbs

Yes. All cyclical drugs make you gain weight, probably has to do with water retention.
