For me, it helps a lot! It helps to clear out your mind, and to work out your feelings. You can say whatever you want and know that nobody else will ever read your true feelings. Sometimes, your feelings get all bundled up inside of you. It's better to let them out than to keep them to yourself. If I were you, I would just try it. It could help you out tremendously!
Best wishes and Happy New Year! :)

I've had a journal for a long time. Its a good way to express yourself when you need to get it out but just don't feel like talking to someone or just to write down your thoughts, feelings, and memories. I feel much better after writing. Fun to go back and read them too!

I find it helps me to get my issues into perspective. I've kept journals off and on for years and I can see a lot of progression. It's amazing too how many problems are transitory. I wish you all the best and if you decide to keep a journal, good luck with it!

Yes because you can write anything you are feeling or needing to say to get it out of you. Sometimes, when you go back and read what you've written, you'll be able to get the answer, or see what the problem really is - it helps in all ways possible. Good luck.

It helped me. It was like I was talking it out with myself. I found that trying to figure out a way to put my words on paper coherently helped me to understand them better. Kinda like writing an essay helps you to understand a topic you have been assigned to study. You have to research the facts and understand them well enough to re-write them in your own words.
With a journal (diary) you are writing an essay on your life and feelings. Research your feelings and put them in your journal.
Then, for many people, once it's in the book, it doesn't harbor in your heart anymore.

Yes, although I would rather write poetry about it, if the muse descends, (it hasn't lately) but yes, it does help me relax and clear my mind.

Yes it does. From my own experience. You can put thoughts on paper and pen, feel good when finished. I do not put it on the computer.
