The Runaways' drummer Sandy West passed away on October 21, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. The Runaways were famous for 'Cherrybomb' (ch-ch-ch-cherry BOMB!) and 'Do You Wanna Touch (Me There)'. She will be missed. Not only were they THE original grrrrl group, when no one would sign them, Joan Jett started her own Blackheart Records label. The did everything from the ground up themselves!
The Go-Go's first album was a great new wave rocker! 'Beauty And The Beat' had the hits 'We Got The Beat' and 2 others. Like U2, when The Go-Gos first got together, non of the members could play an instrument. They just picked out who would play what and they learned the instrument they chose (yep, like U2). Then they made a record. Then another. Hit after hit. Then came the Bangles. They were even bigger. I don't count Bananrama. Only count the actual ones that played as an actual band.
