I second the craigslist.com! Did you guys know that one of the other online classified sites try to pay 5M for it and got rejected. I guessed whoever started craigslist.com still believes in one of the american dreams of freebies!!! Rock on!

any "FREE" adverting isn't going to be of much value - you get what you pay for join related discussion groups, forums - that's how I sold some of my products check out delphi forums - some of the groups allow a "marketplace" or buy/sell listings (free)
