It's very difficult to bypass alot of these college systems that filter p2p traffic. It could also land you in major major hot water as any workarounds would very likely be flagged by any decent system quickly(i.e. the system would notice one PC uploading/downloading major amounts of data). I think your best bet is to have a friend off campus donwload something for you, and send it over AIM direct connect.

Hey dude, If you have access to your switches physically, it easy to bypass your network. Your proxy server will be terminated at a "untrusted switch" at one end and another end, it will terminated in a trusted switch which connected to your LAN. Trace out your port in the switch and remove the cord and give it to the untrusted switch. Thats done...!. Now assign an external IP to your PC similar to your LAN's external IP based on the broadcast address in your squid.

I would not try to get on to a P2P client. every time you log on to the college system your log on is recorded . and if your trying to access other sites your not permitted to access then the network administrator will know...
it is about time you started to understand computers everything you do, even on your own private home computer is traceable. you leave foot prints on every network (website) you visit which is your service providers ip address, your ip address and the time you were on.

to show you what I mean... click on show (headers) on one of your e-mail that will show you everything, where it come from, what rout it took, time sent, ip address sent from, ip address of your web mail server and ip adrees sent to along with your e-mail address :)

You're best bet is to forget about if you don't want to risk being expelled from school. Find internet access somewhere else to do what you can't do at school.
