Yes, and they do tend to international waters and are exceedingly high tech. A lot do steal from other boats still, but more tend to be drug and/or weapons runners, or smugglers.
Pirates have been about since ocean going boats were created. The Greeks and Romans used them - hired them, in fact - to intimidate and harrass communities so the Greeks could go in and "save" those people from the pirates on the condition they let the Grteeks rule. Old trick, worked really well.
Most people only think of the Pirates who were int he south seas in the 1600s and 1700s, but they are older than that, and still exist today. They just changed with the times.

Yes, as matter Pirates attacked a cruise ship off the coast of Africa with in the last year. It was all over the news about how the cruise ship captain out ran the pirates.

Yes, cruise lines are constantly being attacked by them. Their not "pirates of the carribean style" pirates with birds on their shoulders and wooden legs, but yes, they exist. The Mediterrenean Sea is a huge problem for anyone traveling by boat, that is why the U.S. will never send any companies over sea's to the African continent.

Yes pirates still exist. There are still pirates on boats in the ocean and there are pirates who steal copyrighted music and videos.

Yes. A Pirates is just a thief on the high seas. There are still many lone ships still looting others on the high sea today.

I mean real Pirates of the waterways. Ships, yaghts, boats, I guess all of it.
And they get far more than they have ever gotten on the high seas before.

Yes but they aren't around as much as they were, times have changed. They do still exist and I believe they always will...you just don't hear about them anymore. Ask any sailor...They will tell you.
