My husband and I recently purchased a home that has a hot tub outside on the back patio. There was no manual left behind, only some chemicals. I would like to know how to drain the hot tub? I'm assuming there is some sort of mechanism for doing this. Any information would be helpful.

Remove the panel, that covers the pump and piping. You should see a valve in the white drain pipe. It depends on the model, as to where it is located, and what type valve. It might be one that you can attach a hose to, or it could be tied into the sewer system, and just opening the valve will start draining the tub. You should be able to locate a name on a data plate, and contact the manufacturer, for operating instructions. You could also take some pictures, and go to a local hot tub store. They should be able to help you. Good luck, and Happy New Year!

Hot tubs can be an unending wellspring of stimulation, which is likely one of the fundamental reasons they keep on being so prevalent. So as to remain fun, then again, a considerable lot of work needs to be finished concerning routine support. Most spa tub holders realize that they have to frequently add cleaning chemicals to keep the pH level of the water under control, and that they have to altogether clean the channel now and again to counteract stops up and the filtration framework from moving down. It may come as an amazement, however, numerous individuals don't understand that all spa tubs need to be totally emptied and refilled each three to four months. Remember that this is not an exact interim for each client; contingent upon how frequently you utilize your hot spa tub and what number of individuals get in the water, you may need to empty it all the more regularly.

On ours one corner on the bottom on the outside has a plug you pull to drain it. You need to turn it and pull it out to pop it so it can drain, it has a hose end on it so you can hook a hose up and make the water go away.

Leave it running while you are draining it until it gets low enough there's not enough water to circulate through the jets. Then kill the power to it and let it finish up. I always have to reach into ours and "sweep the water" down off the seats into the drain area with a towel.

A hose to the street does the job...same procedure as for a pool. Then go to a store and ask advice on what chemicals to use, and how much. (based on size) They can even give you advice on draining it.

When we had our rentals I used a portable sump pump on the older ones we had. I don't know about the newer models and how they drained.
