3000, if you only count the ones that died on the ground in Iraq. If a soldier was lifted off, in a medical helicopter or something, and died in the copter, the soldier wasn't included in that count. So, many more US troops have died since the invasion than are reported.

according to CNN it has just reached 3,000 (1-Jan-2007). However it is a small figure with compared with Iraqi civilian deaths. That is a statistical comment, not a political one.

around 3000-3500. but they have killed as much Iraqi people.. which now equals the population of Vancouver.
