I realize the story in large part has been de-bunked, but whether it's fact of fiction, the book is an excellent horror novel.
But I agree, skip the movies! They can't even compare to the creepy power of the book.

I loved the book. I read it first, then saw the movies, and thought they were really bad. But it was a great book to read.

I read it a long time ago when it first came out, and I liked it very much. I thought it was scary. The movie didn't do it justice.
