Great? Yep. jamesthecontentloser got it right. If you use it as a muse, to provoke you to write things that otherwise you might never have written. For example, my response to your question, "Have you ever felt that when you prayed harder, your prayers are still not answered?" Thank you for prompting that writing on my part.

Greatest? Nope. No way. Nor should the You of YouTube have been Time Magazine's Person of the Year.

Maybe the blogosphere taken as a whole is one of the greatest things in 2006. But the exchange of ideas it facilitates can rise far above most of the chit-chat on Y!A.

My favorites, for example, are truthout, Raw Story, Huffington Post, OpEd News, TomPaine, Alternet, the articles they post and the comments they arouse. But each person must find his/her own.

To make my point, for some of the good news of 2006 we would not have heard about from television news or newspapers, we can read pieces like the one from Alternet cited below. Sometimes we need to hear some "good news."

And a happy, well-informed 2007 to you! Keep on asking such sharp, provocative questions.
