Most of those who say this or that group "hate America" do not know that the United States is vastly complex and even when desired is feared, when feared also respected, when respected also subject to criticism for false pride. We are a land of ingenuity, ambition and passionate caring but at the same time arrogant, aggressive and seemingly indifferent. A land of contradictions that one hates and loves simultaneously.

It's also said that in order to hate, one must have intense passion for something else. Therefore, today's modern conservatives' animosity towards (perceived) liberalism is an after-effect of their own "love" for (the mere illusion of) "traditional" America. Their expressed pleasure from the failure of Chicago's Olympic bid can also be interpreted not only as a direct jab at Obama (Chicago being his home town and all) but can also be indicative the rising nativism and staunch opposition to multiculturalism within the fringe arch-conservative faction. Improving America's image abroad is obviously the least of the increasingly isolationist far right's priorities.

No its about hating the guy in charge.
No one thinks about what the guy before him did, like cut military spending so the size drops and technology being used has fallen behind, so when they are actually needed, Things like armored cars, Body armor and manpower no longer exist. *Cough Clinton Cough* Easier to blame the guy who went to war with out the stuff the country refused to pay for in the first place.
Granted some people who are Americans really do hate America. They are on both sides of the field and think the other side is doing the damage. But they are free to belive what they want.
But that's America for you, and that's why My family came to this country, So they have the rights to believe what they want and not get shot for it. Or hunted down by death squads every time a rival Political power came in to play (Happened to my Grand father 3 times, he was a very lucky man).
But I would still rather hear those people ***** and moan than live in say... France.
Happy new year! =)

The far left and far right each make the mistake of believing that their ideological ideas are the basis for American values. So what it proves is that most Americans are ignorant.
