It depends on the fish, I just read an article on this so its interesting that you ask. Freshwater fish drink very little water, while saltwater fish drink, well, like fish. ;)

Web research seems to indicate that most fish do drink plenty of water, some continuously. Some fish absorb water through their skin and/or gills, and may excrete water that way, too. Apparently, fish need to maintain a fairly high concentration of salt, so how a fish deals with this need depends on whether it is a saltwater or freshwater fish. Most saltwater fish get enough or too much salt, and so preventing water loss is their concern. Freshwater fish are short on salt, and since water dilutes sodium, they have many mechanisms for excreting water. It is interesting to note that kidneys process water for excretion, so some saltwater fish have dysfunctional kidneys or are missing kidneys to help prevent water loss

Yes fish drink water if they live in it.

Freshwater fish do not need to drink water. They absorb it through their skin and gills through osmosis. Their kidneys are actually designed to remove as much water from the body as possible, so the fish's cells don't overflow with water and burst open.

Saltwater do drink water. Their gills process the water and remove the salt. Their kidneys are designed to hold in as much water as possible, because the salt environment pulls water out of the fish's body through osmosis.

it depends what kind of fish that it is. If its a:
>Fresh-water fish- no because water is taken in through their mouth and then comes back out of their gills
>salt-water fish- yes because all the water is taken in, but the salt comes out of its gills.

saltwater fish do..

freshwater fish is the opposite... they urinate/expell a lot of water because freshwater gets absorbed through their skin & gills and they have to constantly expell water from their body to keep it in balance..

it has to do with the salt content in the water & in their bodies..

Not really in the same manner that we do. They use osmotic forces to regulate the water and salt in the body.
