I'm thinking Vegas, the Grand Canyon, the Crazyhorse monument, New York, Washington, Boston, San Fran, Sacramento, Houston, Santa Fe, wherever KFC is from, etc.

Other suggestions?

There's almost too many to list and you've hit on some major places.

Here goes:

New York City--in New York: Empire State Building--at the top on a clear day, you'll see for miles; Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Frick Museum; MOMA (Museum of Modern Art); take in a Broadway show; Chinatown, SoHo, Greenwich Village, Harlem, Central Park, much more...oh, do take a ride in a NYC taxi and on the subway!

Las Vegas is great fun. Plan 3-4 days if you have time.

Washington, DC and Boston are excellent choices providing a wonderful historical perspective.

San Francisco--very nice--like a smaller version of NYC in some respects--more cosmopolitan than Los Angeles

Santa Fe is lovely.

Scenic areas: Grand Canyon is fantastic; Colorado, Utah, Yellowstone National Park (state of Wyoming), Yosemite National Park (state of California); New England states--Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont are beautiful in the Fall season (check local info for foliage peaking times), as is the entire Northeastern part of the country.

Hope this helps you.

Have a terrific trip and a very Happy New Year!

What all are you looking for? Must see the Las Vegas, NV; Grand Canyon, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; Santa Fe, NM. Into Colorado, beautiful state. Up into SD, must see Mt. Rushmore and the badlands. East into Minnesota, land of a thousand lakes. Wisconsin, home of the farmers and lots of small box canyons from the last ice age. Chigago, can't forget "shy-town". At this point you will have seen Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. Keep going East and see the other 3 Great Lakes. From this point of your trip, there has been desert, mountains, prairies, lakes, more mountains, and historic sites. Have fun and drive safely. This is a great country we have. Everyone should see it.

Niagara Falls is on the "MUST SEE" list, but the best place to see it is from the Canadian side.
