What are the requirements to be a practicing pharmacist?

How many years of college are needed and what type of degree? Also, What type of residency is required, if any?

A minimum of 6 years of education, 2-4 years of prereqs and 4 years of pharmacy school. You will need a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Residency is not currently required to become a practicing pharmacy. You just need to pass two licensing exams after graduation.

A degree. Look up Xavier University in New Orleans. It turns out some of the best pharmacists in the country.
