The only place I know that you can legally buy fireworks is Canberra. I have bought them a few times from there when I pass though on the way the the snow fields from Sydney. The factory's are just off the main highway about 2-3 km from the airport.

Only in the territories can you buy fire works. Northern Territory and Australian Capital Territory.
P.S. No one can post them to you as it is illegal to send fireworks through the post. Both the sender and the receiver can be prosecuted.
Also, it may be illegal to use fireworks outside the N.T. and ACT. Although I have never heard of anyone being prosecuted yet. If it is illegal to buy and sell fireworks in other states, it would logically follow that it is illegal to use them. Maybe that is another question that could be asked.

You cant send fireworks throught the postal system in Australia it is illegal
