Sweeney currently (2006) lives in Los Angeles with her husband David Sanov, a California highway patrolman, who once appeared on Days of Our Lives in the role of a police officer. She and her husband welcomed their first child, a son, Benjamin Edward on February 25, 2005.

Alison Sweeny is married to her husband Bill a California highway patrol officer, they have a son Ben born during her Stan days. That is why they had a guy take over her role, she was on leave.
