I'm trying to make a little seed-bead cell phone charm in the way that you usually use pony beads. I tied a knot to finish it, tested the knot, and cut it. As soon as I cut it, it came loose! There's only about 1/2" of cord left on each side. I spent way too much time on it to just start over. What should I do?

By the way, it's very slippery elastic cord. I'm sure that makes a difference.

I'll have to get my brother's hot glue gun fired up. I'll try to be as neat as possible.

Thanks for the suggestion, acid. Ten points to you by tomorrow.

What about hitting it with a hot glue gun or superglue to hold the last bead in place. Other than that I think your going to have to rip it apart.

IF nothing else works (like various glues --2 part epoxies will hold most anything), you could try heating the ends (gradually, if possible).

Since the cording is made from plastic, it should kind of soften and/or melt when heated... you can either let it do that by itself or kind of moosh it together on itself so that it forms a blob that's too big to slip back through the cording (or kind of melt it to the last bead).

(Hot glue might work if there isn't much stress on the area, but it's not real strong, esp. on plastic or flexible areas... superglue or E-6000/Goop etc., would work better. Not all "glues" or glue substitues work well on plastics because they're too smooth.)

You can use clear finger nail polish on the end to hold the knot in place, it normally works for me. Hit it once or twice with the nail polish..

You should tie it your zipper so you can open it more easily since you cut it too small.
