I know he gets it from his ex-girlfriend April but is it from sharing a needle with her or the other way

His ex-girlfriend, April, and he used to be junkies together. She found out she had AIDS and committed suicide. As to whether she had it first and gave it to him or he had it first and gave it to her is unclear. One of them probably picked it up off a used needle and then gave it to the other through sex.
