I'm a soldier and have been deployed to Iraq twice - Its tough over there, really tough. Most of us don't agree of why we came over here but we will continue to fight because we took that oath to serve and die for our country and the people in it. I think we have caused more problems and more people hate the United States because of Iraq and it's sad. This won't end though, not until the Iraqii government can defend itself. We made this problem and we have to stay as long as we can to fix what we did.

I do not support the war in Iraq. I support the American troops and pray their safe return home. The war has cost too many lives to prematurely end. I choose PEACE over WAR. The billions of dollars spent on the war and rebuilding Iraqi could have been used to rebuild America's weak market cities and to boost our own economy.

I have not supported the war in Iraq since the United Nations warned the U.S. to let the weapons inspectors finish their jobs. But since that did not come to fruition, and since the Bush administration declared war without the support of the U.N. I have never favored this war, as it was obviously a manipulative maneuver on the current administration's part. However, I want to say--loudly and clearly--that I support all of the troops serving in Iraq.

Nope. It's totally unfair. And I knew the rate of deaths was a lot higher for Iraqis rather than for Americans before even seing your numbers above. You dont need to go to school for knowing that. This war is just the result of greed and selfishness, and now with the death of that man yesterday, dont you even think for a minute that things will loosen up a little bit, no way. It will be so much worse, but let's pray for it not to be so.
Happy New Year to You!!! (but not for Bush)

To borrow from the Vietnam War, it is a quagmire. It is not winnable. It is the Vietnam nightmare all over again.
It should be noted that it mostly Democrats that are the front line soldiers. It is mostly Republicans that ditch military service and send others to do their fighting for them while they stay behind the lines at the country clubs and million dollar ranches with their butlers wiping them just after they use the toilet.

No. I will never support that war and I feel terrible for all of the families that lost somebody due to it, here in America and over in Iraq. I wish the war would just halt. It is horrible hearing of constant death.

Yes, I do.
Have you read your history? If you did you see that it does repeat itself. The US lost 413,000 in WW2. The USSR lost 27 million. China, Poland, Germany, Yugoslovia all lost millions of lives. Hitler had marched across Europe and was very near to victory when Japan sent America an invitation. His next stop was the US and he planned to invade us through our Mexican and Candian borders.
After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, should we have said, "Aww, that's okay. Here, take what you want of our country. We don't want to go to war. Afterall, people die in wars."
On to Iraq.
Iranian authorities have registered more than 50,000 civilian victims of chemical weapons as a result of the Iraq-Iran war.
290,000 people were killed under the rule of Saddam Hussein.
Of those:
April 29, 2005 U.S. investigators exhumed the remains of 113 people -- all but five of them women, children or teenagers -- from a mass grave in southern Iraq that may hold at least 1,500 victims of Saddam Hussein's campaign against the Kurdish minority in the 1980s.
Investigators said that Kurdish women and children were forced to stand at the edge of the pits, then shot with AK-47 assault rifles.
Hussein's forces carried out similar campaigns against the Shiite majority. More than 300 mass graves have been found across Iraq since U.S.-led forces overthrew Hussein in March 2003, according to U.S. and Iraqi officials.
Scott Ritter, a UN Weapon's Inspector said this: The prison in question is at the General Security Services headquarters, which was inspected by my team in Jan. 1998. It appeared to be a prison for children — toddlers up to pre-adolescents — whose only crime was to be the offspring of those who have spoken out politically against the regime of Saddam Hussein. It was a horrific scene.
What part of stopping that should I not support?

No, I do not.
I fell for all the men and women serving over there, and also for there families.
I think they all need to be brought home, and let the Iraq's fight there own battle.
We have lost way to many lives over there.
God Bless our soldier that are there.
