Getting what he deserved?
A short drop and a quick stop...what he deserved? Pppphleese! He was responsible for the suffering of millions of people.
No I think he is getting what he truly deserves now.
(that is if he didn't find God in his last few moments of life)
Execution is barbaric because it forces and otherwise decent person to kill a totally worthless person, not in defese of their life or the lives of others, but in a caluclated, planned manner. ***shiver*** It can be rationalized and justified but what must it do to their psyche?
The best punishment for Saddam would have been to lock him in a tiny cage like the animal he was, and let the whole world forget about him. (megalomaniacs hate that) Or do the same and let every person he had harmed with his actions vent their anger at him. and then forget him.

Justice, baby. Plain, simple justice. He was found guilty of murder by a jury and sentenced to death by a judge. I don't know much about the Catholic Church, and their beliefs, but Saddam received a lot more mercy than he offered to the thousands he tortured and killed. My concern is not Saddam's hanging, but rather that most of the people that witnessed the hanging and executed it were Shiite and did in a manner of revenge of Shiite against Sunni regime. My biggest concern is that the current Iraqi governement is not less dictator than he was. Yet we have now Shiite dictators instead of Sunnies. This is so scary, and unless the elections are not based on religious sectors, Iraq will never see peace!!

He totally deserved it. He exterminated 200 Kurds, plus there were dozens of other things that they could have hanged him for. If you call his hanging murder, it's like calling Scott Peterson's execution a murder.

I honestly don't know. I have very mixed emotions about this. I know that he was a horrible person however, I believe that God can save any one. And the Bible says that it's not my place to decide who does and doesn't deserve to be saved. So, by killing him did we take away his opportunity to get saved? But perhaps God knew that he wasn't going to get saved anyway. I just always think that if God wants somebody dead he's perfectly capable of killing them himself. Then again, he was a monster and dangerous as long as he was alive. I just don't know............

I am very uncomfortable with any execution in any form. I just don't like the idea of taking any human beings life. I do understand that this man was the indirect or direct cause of millions of death. But because of my religious beliefs I am not for killing in any form.
