Getting what he deserved?

A short drop and a quick stop...what he deserved? Pppphleese! He was responsible for the suffering of millions of people.

No I think he is getting what he truly deserves now.
(that is if he didn't find God in his last few moments of life)

Execution is barbaric because it forces and otherwise decent person to kill a totally worthless person, not in defese of their life or the lives of others, but in a caluclated, planned manner. ***shiver*** It can be rationalized and justified but what must it do to their psyche?

The best punishment for Saddam would have been to lock him in a tiny cage like the animal he was, and let the whole world forget about him. (megalomaniacs hate that) Or do the same and let every person he had harmed with his actions vent their anger at him. and then forget him.

The death penalty brings society down to the level of the evil ones which it is trying rid itself.

December 29: Vatican official says executing Saddam would be wrong: http://www.kwqc.com/Global/story.asp?S=5865506&nav=menu83_2

December 30: Vatican spokesman denounces Saddam's execution as 'tragic': http://www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2006-12-30-vatican-saddam_x.htm?csp=34

Jesus, John 8:1-11, spares a women guilty of adultery whom the Mosaic Law said should be stoned to death.

If the guilty person's identity and responsibility has been fully determined then non-lethal means to defend and protect the people's safety from the aggressor are more in keeping with the common good and the dignity of the human person.

The Church does not exclude recourse to the death penalty, if this is the only possible way of effectively defending human lives.

However in today's modern society, the capability of rendering the offender incapable of doing harm - without definitively taking away from him the possibility of redeeming himself - the cases in which the execution of the offender is an absolute necessity are very rare, if not practically non-existent.

With love in Christ.

Justice, baby. Plain, simple justice. He was found guilty of murder by a jury and sentenced to death by a judge. I don't know much about the Catholic Church, and their beliefs, but Saddam received a lot more mercy than he offered to the thousands he tortured and killed. Live by the sword, die by the sword, and all that stuff...

My concern is not Saddam's hanging, but rather that most of the people that witnessed the hanging and executed it were Shiite and did in a manner of revenge of Shiite against Sunni regime. My biggest concern is that the current Iraqi governement is not less dictator than he was. Yet we have now Shiite dictators instead of Sunnies. This is so scary, and unless the elections are not based on religious sectors, Iraq will never see peace!!

He totally deserved it. He exterminated 200 Kurds, plus there were dozens of other things that they could have hanged him for. If you call his hanging murder, it's like calling Scott Peterson's execution a murder.

It was about time. Just because the Catholic church says it doesn't make it true.

i'm not fullyyt particular if what change into performed change into good, yet i imagine this is the nearest to justice we as people can attain today. inspite of the indisputable fact that this is the aftereffects that worry me. Jubilation and entertainment throughout the global all over the place. I comprehend he did a good number of undesirable issues (as a count number of understatement, he change into the worst component to hit the global considering Hitler), inspite of the indisputable fact that this is not a time to rejoice. yet another one in each of God's little ones (considering all people are God's little ones) has been lost, perhaps for strong. this may in all likelihood be it so some distance as possibilities bypass to redeem himself in God's eyes. and that i'm not saying this to downplay in besides his victims, it easily change into not a time to rejoice then both. a lot of them are lengthy previous for strong besides. inspite of the indisputable fact that it truly is in no way good to rejoice the inability of a brother who will in no way go back even as strong is restored in the global. God's justice will be performed, and every time it truly is performed it truly is powerful. yet God has suggested the He Himself would not consistently like dispensing justice because this is the inability of one His sons or daughters, and we are instructed now to not rejoice it both. i'd be happy even as all is over and no you may even ought to die lower back (for justice or without it).

Saddam was a dictator, but nobody deserve to be hanged? And, the bible says u shall not kill, it is one of the 10 commandments.

It is very shocking news and it is a shame to show the trailer of his death.....and the details......nobody deserve this though he have got people killed......

Those who r filming his death and taking pictures and those who r hanging him and those celebrating his death with fire crackers r no less .....EVERYBODY SINS....many kill.....so, what's the difference between us and saddam???

I honestly don't know. I have very mixed emotions about this. I know that he was a horrible person however, I believe that God can save any one. And the Bible says that it's not my place to decide who does and doesn't deserve to be saved. So, by killing him did we take away his opportunity to get saved? But perhaps God knew that he wasn't going to get saved anyway. I just always think that if God wants somebody dead he's perfectly capable of killing them himself. Then again, he was a monster and dangerous as long as he was alive. I just don't know............

I am very uncomfortable with any execution in any form. I just don't like the idea of taking any human beings life. I do understand that this man was the indirect or direct cause of millions of death. But because of my religious beliefs I am not for killing in any form.
