first verify that you hooked the battery up properly and it is a good connection. without power you can't even take the vehicle out of park. sometimes you need to drive backwards for a little if you drove the ford in 4X4 on hard surface(this will bind the transfer case which will keep you from shifting out of 4X) of carefully put parking brake on and slowly raise one front wheel to relieve strain on transfer.

I suggest towing your car to a good shop. If the 4x4 would not disengage there is another issue. Now electrical with the battery disconnected. Youc ould try the brain thing however since your car seems to have a mind of its own I wouldn not go any further unless you know how to bail yourself out. And since you can not even put the car in drive you may have a critical problem. Save yourself some heart ache take it to a mechanic.

Possibly a fusable link for the computer. Check all of the fuses and fusable links under the hood. The fusable link will be somewhere between the battery and starter or off of a selinoid on the fender well. Good luck.

tyr to find your computer for the vehicle and there should be two connectors attached, unplug them and leave your vehicle for about 45-60 minutes and that should reset your computer

You should have you vehicle towed to the dealer and tell them what you did. You seem to know just enough to make it worse.
