January 2nd is not a holiday and you should find that everything will be open. We only get an extra day off if the holiday falls on the weekend, since January 1st is a Monday, Tuesday is not a holiday.

Its not a Holiday, but due to President Ford's passing away the mail isn't going to run, so some other places may be closed as well.

I was at the post office on Friday, Dec. 29th when the workers got official notice that the post office will be closed Tues. Jan.2 . I can not remember any other time when we didn't receive mail for 3 days in a row.

I work with an Insurance company and word is the stock market will be closed on the 2nd for President Ford's Funeral.. I don't know what else would be closed..

Some places will be closed due to President Ford's funeral. From what I understand, there will be no mail delivery. Don't know if that's true or not. Guess we'll find out on Tuesday.
