This is my second pregnancy and I never felt this with my first. I am 37 and a half weeks pregnant. She is moving around a lot, and I am getting extreme pains/ pressure in my pelvis. It feels like she is trying to push her way out. Could this be the start of labor, or what do you think it is? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

If you are having alot of pain and she is moving like crazy, I would definitley go to the hospital. You could be in labor and with second babies it can go much faster. just go to the hospital to be sure. If not...go home and it wont be much longer. But I reccommend going as soon as possible. Good Luck:)

Yes this could be the start of labor. With that time that you have been pregnant you are almost due. One should mever compare pregnancies as they tend to be uniquely different each time. For more info howevr on pelvic pain, there is a Yahoo Group that tackles this. Go to the Endometriosis Research Center on yahoo. Good luck with your second birth giving and Happy New Year and Baby!

it sounds like you have been thru "lightening" (the dropping of your baby) and she is moving around and trying to position herself for labor. the pressure you feel is probably her head faces your bottom. once a baby drops and nestles into the pelvis, it will start to turn toward your bottom to make it easier for her to be pushed out, which will unfortunately cause a lot of pelvic pain and lower back pain for you. she could also be facing your pelvis and hasn't turned yet...which could also cause a lot of pressure and pain for you. you could have started labor, time your contractions to check and make sure, or she could just be turning herself and getting positioned for when you do go in labor. good luck...i'm 35 weeks and due jan 27th

if it is sharp pain in the pelvic floor when shes moving then its just her head putting pressure on your pelvic area. Nope its not a sign of labour just pressure thats all but being 37 and a half weeks you could start labour anytime anyways hope this helps, goodluck and congratulations on your lil girl when she arrives

Its perfectly normal and common with your second and subsequent pregnancies.

I actually have it with my first.

But you will have that ESPECIALLY with your second and so on. Your body is already designed and spread to allow a baby into your pelvis, because of that the baby has better access to rest agains your major nerves and tendons.

Its unpleasant, but the good news is that you're almost done. :) Stay active, it will help.

it feels like she's going to fall out of your crotch, but she wont. Its the most common worry of second time moms.

I had that to with my second and not my first. My doctor told me it was normal, there is quite a few things you feel with second and later pregnancies that you don't feel with your first. There was times it hurt me so bad that I couldn't even lift my leg.
