I put a kodak easyshare instalation CD in so that i could install the kodak program to upload pictures. it went though the installation procedure and then told me that i needed to restart my mac. so i clicked restart.i left for like 5 minutes and came back to the computer. the computer was back to all the factory settings and all of my programs wornt on the desktop. for example, limewire was on my computer but not installed. also, all of my music was deleted. is there anyway i can get my computer back to normal? thanks

It sounds like you may have just lost your home folder. NEVER change the name of your home folder. Everything you do is stored within your home folder, and if you change the name of it, the computer will lose track of all of your files. Here's a link explaining this. It also explains how you can fix this problem, had you renamed your home folder.

If you want to restore you computer to factory condition, insert your system disks and restart the computer, holding down the C key as your system boots.

Log out. It sounds like you got logged in as a different user. That or you used the setup CD instead of the Kodak CD, but nobody would do that.

Check your Trash. If they aren't there look for them using File menu Find or Spotlight i.e. .m4p or .m4v or .ipg I hope you had a backup of them.
