I've had a c-section and I was told to wait 8-12 weeks. You have to make sure your wound is healed and you can get in and out of the tube by yourself. Soaking the area may cause infection. Good Luck.

Did you get stitches or staples?
If staples, it doesnt take too long to be able to shower maybe two or three days(I didnt have a c-section, but I had a cyst removed at 20 weeks pregnant that was just like a c-section wthout the result of a baby, I had staples), if stitches you will have to wait until they are removed or at least keep the stitches dry during yoru shower which would be hard.

Any steristrips can be removed about 10 days after surgery. You may bath or shower and pat dry. It is a little uncomfortable at first to bath after a Cesarean but after a while of working your abdominal muscles it gets better

Bathing depends more on bleeding rather than on csection healing. If you've stopped bleeding, then it should be safe, just remember to dry the area well and pat with witchhazel.
Talk to your midwife or OB, they'll know the details from your surgery and your medical history better than we do.

Shower is OK after you leave the hospital, make sure to pat the stitches dry. I know its the holiday, but you can call your OB office and ask....or if you have 'discharge papers' from the hospital....it should be there.

Hello,
I believe after my C section, I waited six months.
It took me six months to fully recover.
Are you doing any cold therapy? If you have a cold pak and an ace bandage, place the cold pak (on top of a hand towel) on you incision and wrap the ace bandage around your tummy. Let the cold penetrate the incision to make your healing time go faster.
Hope this helps you................. : - O

Wait until everything is removed. Any area which has had an incision needs to keep as clean and dry as possible.
