i have a 1987 cbr 1000 honda motorcycle which won't electric start, winds over slowly, i have replaced the starter solenoid, taken the starter motor off, cleaned and it seems to be ok. it will clutch start easy and runs perfectly. i replaced battery and the cam chains 4 months ago, it has been ok up until then.....problem started about 1 month ago. any help would be greatly appreciated

it is the starter clutch that is gone

make sure both battery connections are clean and tight, the battery fully charged. if both of these are good, have the battery load tested. another thing would be the voltage regulator gettin squirelly and might need replaced.

Ahh, this is the starting problem. Sounds like a weak connection somewhere. To check and see, connect a volt meter to the starter terminals and watch the voltage while your trying to crank it. If there is less than 11 volts while cranking then there probably is a bad ground connection, but could be the positive side. Just be sure the ground to the frame is really good and clean and free of paint.

i'm assuming its turning over...yet its difficult to assert given which you replaced the battery. sounds like carbs dude. uncertain is an inner issue. You greater beneficial than in all possibility have been given some crappy gasoline, and it iced up up the insides of your carb. And next time guy, dont leave the motorbike sit down for a month...Take the lady out, they like to be ridden 3 hundred and sixty 5 days around. Dont be a squid! Hapyy using

you see it is possible to solve it. if NO than you go to the motorcycle garage or showroomes
