The term 1.5 generation or 1.5G refers to people who immigrate to a new country before their early teens. They earn the label the "1.5 generation" because they bring with them characteristics from their home country but continue their assimilation and socialization in the new country. Their identity is thus a combination of new and old culture and tradition.

To answer a blanketed statement like that I am FORCED to say "It depends on the woman." Of COURSE some Asian women like Caucasian men, but (being a black female living in Asia), I've also found that many absolutely would not consider dating outside of their race. Or, maybe dating, but absolutely not marrying outside of their race. I get into race talks all the time with my female friends since, obviously I stand out in this country for being an unexpected race, so it ends up coming up an awful lot.

Everybody has different tastes. As for me, I'm asian and have a caucasian boyfriend...so yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean I favor caucasian guys to any other race. I will like whoever is sincerely nice and makes me laugh.

Yes, & yes again! Since kindergarten I have observed & later from personal experience that they like any males who are not asian. We are far easier on them. Their own men have a reputation of being demanding, harsh & selfish when it comes to females. I often found that to be true. They only give their mothers respect. They are almost as sexist as the arabs. In College my girlfriend Suki {Japanese} hated the way her brother & father treated her & her mom, like slaves.

i don't think there is a reason why really. people just make a big deal out of it because it's a brown woman going out with a white man. like pocahontas going out with john smith. people who make big fuss about it are just bothered by the whole thing because there so used to seeing vanilla going out with vanilla and chocolate going out with chocolate. i think race just becomes an issue when you take it into a political level, and that just sucks because it makes everybody look racist.
