If you cannot go back (which is probably likely), why don't you get a pen-pal? Then, you can practice Japanese, help the Japanese person learn English, and you can then ask them to send you a picture of Japan.
Otherwise, go to a Japanese restaurant if you miss the food (although there aren't many Japanese restaurants in America that are completely like the ones in Japan).
I'm glad you like Japan though: makes me happy! (I'm Japanese, by the way). I suppose you were lucky in meeting nice people. I hope you get a chance to go back again.
I was reading some comments...it's true that some Japanese people are racist, but not all. Can't it be said for all race/ethnicities? I don't think there's a group of people in the world, where everyone of that group is not a racist. Some old people might have a grudge to America because of the atomic bomb, just as some Americans have grudge on Japan because of Pearl Harbor. However, every year on the day when atomic bomb was dropped, we are not blaming the Americans. Rather, we're promoting peace. Also, not all Japanese people know about the history and what happened in the past with what happened with other Asian countries...so they might need to learn.
That was long...but I just didn't want you to get a long message. I mean, after all, people are people. Just because you are one race doesn't make you special than others, and one country is not better than the other.

You have yella fever, boy!
Sorry, that was inappropriate. But yeah, I lived for five years in Japan and loved it too. I was going to school for electrical engineering and being young, dumb, and full of ambition I decided to do my junior year abroad in Tokyo. Came back after a year and decided to change my entire major and work in linguistics. I also spent six years in undergraduate school.....

Go there and stay until the racism and dislike of anything and everything not Japanese held by those people causes you to leave for good.
