Here are a few suggests starting with the simplest. Make sure that your computers are plugged into power. Make sure your computer speakers are plugged into your sound card's correct port. If it is color coded it will be the green one. Next make sure that your soundcard is not muted. Double Click on the speaker icon next to the clock see that none of the muted check boxes are selected. If that doesn't work get an updated sound card driver. That should solve the problem. I found a program that will let you see what programs there are updates for. It's called RadarSync and it works good. There is a free version and a paid version. The free version should work here.

The usual reason the speakers on my computer don't work is that they're plugged into the wrong jack on the back of the computer.

is this friend of yours a computer expert? if not, call the company that made your computer, they will check it out, and if that doesn't work to a computer speacialist store or a meachanic store like best buy. if taht doesn't work, get new speakers.

make sure spkrs are connected to you OUTPUT on the sound card...thats more than likely your problem....if not go to: my computer>control panel>add hardware. and from there you can add your sound card but make sure the spkrs are plugged into the comp correctly
