To uninstall Firefox. Go to Start menu > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > select Mozilla Firefox > [Remove] > Restart.

To create a desktop shortcut for IE, go to My Computer > C:\ > Program Files > Internet Explorer > right click "iexplorer" and select "Create shortcut" > place shortcut on desktop.

If your friend uninstalled IE then you have to reinstall it. Go to Start menu > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Component > check "Internet Explorer" > insert Windows XP Installation CD in to drive > install IE > Restart.

1.In Settings/Control Panel/Add Remove programs
you can uninstall Firefox.
FF is not the reason
for your computer slowing down. ( Ask a separate question)
Update FF and let it remain..
You can add an extension in FF ( tools/Add ons) to
switch to IE whenever you want in FF. without opening IE
2. Go to C:/Program Files/ Internet Explorer. If the folder exists
run IE6set up ( 481 Kb) and follow instructions. I wonder how your friend DELETED IE. It is still there in your computer. !
3 Go to Windows Update and download IE7. and other updates.
4. If you have the Windows XP CD use the repair option. ( I am not very sure whether only IE/OE can be extracted)

You shouldn't use IE

United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team:
"There are a number of significant vulnerabilities in technologies related to the IE domain/zone...It is possible to reduce exposure to these vulnerabilities by using a different web browser"
