Yes kids should get spankings. Maybe we won't have so many children going around cursing their moms out and falling out having fits. It sure worked for me when I was younger and NO I was not abused

I've done my best to raise a responsible and respectful child, but when she hit puberty, it's like an alien came and took the child I knew away and replaced her with someone I don't even know. I bend over backwards to see that she has everything she needs and try to encourage her. I'm her life coach and I love her to pieces.
What do I get in return? I get back talk, disrespect, talked down to and she never lifts a finger to help me do anything. It's all about her. Well, I'm thinking that since the "grounding" doesn't work, then maybe a good spanking will get her attention . . . . .

A spanking from time to time is good. When I was a kid I never got a spanking before not becasue my parents were not good disapliners it's just that I didn't do anyhting wrong. By the way I do not belive in beating on a child.

I'd occasionaly get spanked if I did something wrong and it taught me to not do it agian. I personally don't believing beating, slapping, hitting or any other form of physical violence will help make a child behave. It just forms a grudge between the people who hit and get hit which escalates the problems.

Oh yeah I totally got butt, face, and anything in reach smacked if I missed behaved. It wasn't like it was abuse and now a days these kids have the nerve to cry abuse. It's almost to the point you want to show them "abuse".A lot of these little teens and kids need a good beating. (I guess I was raised right I'm 18)

I've had my nose broken, the cheek below my left eye broken, nerve and muscle damage to my left eye because of beatings from my dad, Got beatings with his belt as well leaving scars on the upper back part of my legs. Nope I don't beleive in using physical violence on kids, my daughter is proof that it's not necessary if a parent has viable parenting skills and the intelligence to not HAVE to resort to physical violence.

I never got beat but I don't think kids these days should get beat either. I do however think they need discipline and that includes spankings but not beatings.

no kid should get beats or spanks, have u ever thought ur parents raised u was slightly immperfect. its like, 'o well i got em i guess she should too'. thats the same thing as,'black ppl were treated like crap when i was a kid, shouldent they still'. it can also be horrably humiliating, hurtful. i doesnt teach disipline, it make them hate u like hell. they will have dreams about killing u. and sum will. i belive u should TEACH them proper behavior, then u will not have to punish them. or i say let the child choose, like a spanking (fully chlothed) or no tv,computer or phone 4 1 week

Beating? No. A good spanking on the bare butt? Most definitely!
"Beating", to me, connotes using fists or something,
