I'm scottish and like americans. The only thing that annoys us is when you call us english or say england when you talk about the whole of britain.

No we dont hate all Americans, Just most of them. Take the ill informed fool woundbyte as your example of why.
He tries to tell you like a lot of Americans how great and powerful you all are and how you saved us in the last war. Well lets all remember what date America entered WW2. After Pearl Harbour wasn't it? Two years into the war we had been fighting.
Tell us all about your military prowess woundbyte and the great tactical decision to keep the entire pacific fleet 'safe' at pearl harbour. Tell us about all the American servicemen who were killed on the beaches of Normandy, not by the Germans but by the cowardice of the American captains who wouldn't sail their ships close enough to the beach for the men in the tanks to get ashore without running out of oxygen.

I'm sure theres some Brits out there that do, just like theres some Yanks that dont like us... I'm British and my Hubby is American. Its not so much the country some may dislike, its the individual person that you might come across that you arent going to like. From a diffrent country like the U.K, France ,Mexico
or the U.S or Germany.

ppl are ppl, some americans are twits, some brits are twits, it's a messed up world my dear, all we can do is treat ppl how we find them.
General opinions mean nothing, you could meet a brit who loves the U.S culture or you could meet one who hates everything the U.S stands for.
In my own opinion, America has a higher population than Britain so the amount of idiots we see from America are greater than the amount of British idiots we see(and there are quite a few), The percentage is probably the same overall. Every nation has its good and bad points.

We don't hate Americans or America, but sometimes we find the in-your-face attitude a little over the top. If only Americans could perhaps be a little more humble? No - then they wouldn't be Amerians!!

The British people in the main like all Americans. The problem is the bond between Bush and Blair. Blair is unpopular because of his ability to take 2nd place to Bush in all things. Bush and THE war are another aspect.
Happy New Year.

Its the same with people everywhere, if people are nice then we like them, if they aren't, we don't.
I have found all Americans to be very likable people.
Most people judge a nation by its political leaders which is so stupid, we are not all like Tony Blair or George Bush.
My hope is for the world to experience peace in this coming year with goodwill to all nations, free of hunger, war, and political strife for once.
May God Bless both our nations and help them both to be a part of these hopes.
A happy new year to all here.

We are intune with the USA.
After all we share same language and same concepts, same love of music types and comedy - and same free trade market principles.
Its just the uneducated US citizen's who think we owe them for "saving us" from the Nazi's. Great Britain declared war on that evil empire whilst the USA stood and did nothing. We fought alone for 3 years against them to prevent them taking over the world. Yes we are grateful that the US did enter the war on our side... fully grateful (Germany did declare war on the USA after all)... but we fought the Nazis for the right reasons.... and we beat them off via the Battle of Britain when our Spitfires and Hurricane fighter planes fully matched the Lufwaffe.
We don't owe you for coming in to the war and helping us defeat an evil empire. It was for the good of all of us.
