I thought it was incredibly powerful. Djimon Hounsou performance was remarkable and moving. Leonardo DiCaprio surprised me, he was really great in this role. Overall I think it was one of the best movies of the year. Should get tons of awards. Anyway that's just my opinion, what does everyone else think?

Djimon Hounsou always delivers!! Be it Hotel Rwanda, Amistad ,
or Gladiator. His performances are always solid.
I watched documentary on conflict diamonds one month prior to seeing the movie. The documentary and the movie were as one.
The violence in both were the same.
The story in itself is true which gives the movie life.
It will win some awards in certain areas.

I haven't seen it but I think it's pretty sad that it takes a movie with major stars to get people to know about this problem.
I've had fights with two different (ex) girlfriends when I told them I'm against diamonds in wedding rings because it promotes slavery. They didn't care. Maybe they'll listen now that Leo cares.

It's a propaganda movie, just like "Titanic".
It probably get awards, just like "Schindler's List".
There should be more movies advocating friendship instead of flamming hostility, "Blood Diamond" advocated hostility and NOT friendship.
