She's been fat for about a year. Is that healthy? Is she pregnant? Should I put her in another tank? I have no clue really on what to do, so please fill me in here!

Well first of all are you sure it female? Do you have males? Can you tell the different? If you can then you would know that it doesn't take a year. So let say that it female and the usually have babies about within 40 days or so, but make sure you have lots of greenery in the tank so the babies will have a place to hide or get eaten and you won't have any left. You should have two to three females to every one male cause they mate allot.. Buy a book on guppies

Oh my I cant believe its been a year , our guppies produce in about a week. Im guessing that if your guppy has been fat for a year,and if it is even a girl, that its just fat and not pregnant. Some of our guppies were just fat to. If you want some more guppies you should buy some more, if you only have one its kind of hard for them to reproduce (ya know what I mean). I know that they hardly cost anything were we live but I guess it really depends on were you live. I wold get at least five more just to be safe and they should be havin fishy babies in no time. If you were just wondering what was wrong with her she is probably just fat otherwise DONT buy any or you will have a lllllooootttt more really ffaast. In your case if your guppy is just fat, only feed it a couple of flakes or pebbles.

first make sure ur fish has mated. It will take 4 to 5 weeks for the babies to hatch. she shouldn't be fat for the whole year only during spring or early summer. the female will not carry the eggs for long about 1 week then when it's warm she'll release the eggs for the male to spray. don't think she's pregnant she may just be fat!
