On TV where cards are shown and the viewer knows all the cards of all players, is the viewer correct to say that the player,
who had a winning hand after the turn regardless of what the river is, that he got "the nuts"? Is this term only applicable to the best possible hand AMONG the players that are left.? Assuming there are 2 players left. Player 1 has a straight; player 2 has a pair after the turn, is it correct to say that player 1 has "the nuts" , meaning that he has the best possible hand AMONG the players left? Also is it correct to say that a "nut straight" or a "nut flush" that can NOT be beaten regardless of what the next community card is, is it also called "the nuts"?

The nuts is the best hand at the time that is possible. If a flop comes out 6-7-8 with two spades and you have 9-10, then you have the nuts up to that point, now if the turn is a spade, then you no longer have the nuts because the flush beats you at that point. But you can have the nut flush and still be beat by a full house or other combinations of hands.

NO the "nuts" means just that . The amount of players does not affect the best possible hand on the board. The (nuts) refers to best possible hand for that board

The "nuts" refer to the absolute best hand that would or will win the pot. Yes, the straight would be called the "nuts" because it will win the hand.

Yeah, I think if you have the best hand no matter what next card's on the turn or the river they call it a lock.

i do no longer play poker heavily, or is even into it yet... whilst the 1st 3 taking part in cards are set down, this is termed the flop. Then the 4th card is the turn. And the 5th is the river. this is exceptionally lots it.
