why do guys claim that they hate makeup? I am 18 years old college student. I wear makeup. But only natural looking and not too much. My boyfriend does not like makeup. But I don't understand him nor any other guys. They always claim that they hate girls with makeup but why do they think celebrities like Liv Tyler, Jeniffer Lopez are beautiful even if they wear makeup (probably tons of it). I always think no makeup, natural looking makeup and heavy makeup are different things.. And usually natural looking makeup is the target. Guys out there and girls out there..please answer my question. How come guys guys claim that they hate makeup but they almost always prefer girls that ACTUALLY wear them

because boys are idiots. They have NO understanding where to begin when it comes to girl stuff. Nor can they understand why we go to such great effort to look good. Makeup is just one of those things that use girls do to keep men waiting when they want to walk out the door in 10 minutes. It also teaches men not to rush us or we take longer lol. And the saying les is more most guys don't even know when we do wear it so what would they know?

I know.. I think it's just because guys don't realize that many girls are wearing makeup when it's done right. When girls are wearing lots of makeup that's what they are thinking of when they say they don't want makeup.

Natural is the way to go. I hate slathered or unnatural makeup (though a little glitter is ok on special nights). Jennifer Lopez is a s---. Many guys like those kinds of people, but for the wrong reasons. I'm all about personality.

18 y/o boys are just boys..They don't know any better. There is a big difference when someone piles on makeup making them look like a clown..and someone who wears it very lightly...
Some men don't like the time that women take to put makeup on too...lol

Well the reason they like people like Jennifer Lopez is 1. They are TRAINED to like them its whats all over the media and 2 half the time their not worried about their make up honey all their look at is *** and titties....My personal view si that regardless of what guys say they want their chick to look natural and be natural instead of trying to cover up all of your flaws...I use to wear tons of make up but then one day I said screw I'm sexilicious regardless and you wouldn't believe how many guys I started having on me...so really deep down inside guys like chicks who are sexy and they know it regardless of make up

My husband always told me I look better without but that's because he didn't want me to spend time putting it on! I agree, a little is different than caked on, which I never did. I used mascara, eyeliner and lipstick and was out the door.

Well, for me, I just hate excessive makeup. I'm fine with a skin tone blush, eyeliner, mascara, maybe a bit of sparingly applied eyeshadow. I'm not personally a fan of lipstick unless it's a fairly normal tone, ie. no blacks, blues, blood reds.
I think you should do what you want though - it's your face, not your boyfriends. I don't think I'd date a girl who told me how to dress or cut my hair, right?

although it makes people look better in pictures and on camera. We dont like having to deal with it on a close up basis. I hate whiping my lips everytime I kiss my wife.
Honestly, up close makeup looks gross and unatural. but from about 2 feet away it looks ok. This is probably why your boyfriend says that, because he is able to get within your personal bubble.
