75 chevy, 3/4 ton, full floaters (idk if that makes any diff) with big tires, 4 ply sidewalls,4 ply tops, 350 engine, 350 turbo, quadrajet carb tht is goin bad. I have the brake held and am on the gas all it does its just sends the tach up. a buddy of mine told me if its got a 350 it shuld def be able to.

It should light the tires really well, unless you are running 33" or bigger tires. Being a 3/4 ton from 75, the rear is probably a 4.10:1 or at worst a 3.73:1. I'd guess your carb is flooding and needs a rebuild, or your timing is not right.

It all depends. If the truck has big tires it makes it much more difficult, also how hard are you pressing the brakes? If your holding the brakes hard enough to hold the truck then no, it won't spin the tires - the brakes won't let it. A 3/4 ton has pretty big brakes. You could try holding the brakes just light enough for the truck to roll very slowly. Be careful doing this, though. Holding the brakes while you press the gas really makes the transmission very hot very fast. The transmission will overheat in just a few seconds. A direct answer to your question, though - your buddy is wrong. Just because it has a 350 doesn't mean it should be able to burn rubber. That is a very heavy truck with big tires. I have a '92 3/4 ton GMC with a 350 and it won't spin tires unless your on wet pavement and it has stock tires.

ok first of all its a 3/4 ton its a bit heavier so it wont be as easy to burn rubber with a 350. Your tires are also a big factor the more grip the less spin... your carb probably is the biggest factor, if its dumping fuel into it to fast then you are not going to get the power you need. Some people have different prefferances on carbs but personally i like edelbrock i have those in my old chevy's they are cold natured (dont like to run well when cold) but they do great in the heat. you can get a new edelbrock 5500 rpm intake and carb for under $400 the intake you need is a #2101 edelbrock... no egr.. and a #1405 manual choke carb or #1406 electric choke carb.. i like manual chokes better. Maybe with a better carb. Or maybe you need to work on your peddling maybe your just on the breaks to much. A Chevy s10 does not matter what year or engine four cylinder or six auto or stick can burn rubber pretty well so yours should be able to as well. what is the size of your tires are they wide or tall this will also make a big difference.

it should try putting a lil oil on the ground infrount of the back tires then hold in the brake and it might jump forword if it dont then ease off the brake get in the oil it shoul start to spin dont hold the brake in all the way once it starts to spin then drop it to the floor and let off the brake and watch the smoke fly if u want extra smoke them pour some bleach on ur wires it will not hurt ur paint any but it will make lots and lots of white smoke

theres a lot of weight there and the size of the tires are big along with an engine not running right because of the carb going bad, thats the reason it won't burn rubber.

If you've floated the valves and/or lost compression
Your answer is ...NO

Your engine has lost its power band some where over the years.

Over hauling the carb might help but setting the timing might be all your need...

With your set up even Factory should be smoking the right rear tire,,,,,

If the engine is wearin out then no, it is a tired ol' truck. Replace the carb, and slap on a new air cleaner and an engine tune up, then it should really rip up the pavement!

You don't say what the gear ratio in the axles is. That is the biggest factor invovled when running big tires. You need a good stiff gear ratio to do what you want to do.
