Trust me, Dubai is safe to visit for US citizens - if you can get the visa. (Please trust me on this.)The only countries where it is slightly more risky (for all tourists, not just US citizens) are Israel and Egypt due to the threat of terrorism and Yemen due to kidnappings by renegades. Dubai is a fairly common destination with European holiday makers because of its beaches. The government tries heavily to attract foreign investors too. Lots of Westerners work in Dubai, often opening their own businesses. IIRC Michael Jackson owns a home there along with other billionares. To me Dubai is interesting as Western and Arab culture clash so hard here. The Gulf states are a generally very religious and conservative area - the women wear face veils and black abaya's, the men wear long-sleeved shirts and long trousers, the large majority of muslims pray 5 times a day, people attend the friday prayers, separation of men and women is very strict. At the other hand you have alcohol, hollywood glitz and glamour, and European package tourists sunbathing topless at the beach and walking around in strappy tops and shorts. (And nobody bats an eyelash at it.) Don't forget to visit Gold Souk, Global Village, Sheikh Zayed Road and beaches during Dubai Tourism. Thanks and Regards, Dev

Yes. I been there 4 times in past 5 years, stayed for as long as 6 months and liked it.
Dubai is best place to be in middle east.

Are you kidding me? Dubai is like the richest city of the United Arab Emirates. I'll tell you this much, you might not be able to afford to visit Dubai.

Yes, Iv been there and all the people and nice and it is very nice and very safe place to visit. Have fun!!!! Its so fun there!!! If you have kids the best place they would like is "wild wada waterpark" its the best waterpark ever. Its fun for adults to!

There are no government warnings about visiting Dubai, and I'm fairly certain you'd be safe. I personally am not going anywhere near the middle east of my own free will anytime soon though.
