you must go into BIOS and switch booting priority to CD drive first
then reboot
your pc won't load your current operating system but will load the CD and give you options
if the CD doesn't do that then it is not a restoring CD

Hi,
I am just answering ur question. As soon as ur pc boots, enter the bios and set cd rom as the first booting thing. Then restart and the cd should boot ur pc. Then u can format the pc completely and then install xp. This should definately work.

Hope that helps

so the restore cd isnt the original? or u updated to a newer version of xp ... u may need to google a boot cd image that has fdisk on it and delete the old partitions that way , or u can use a 98 or ME bootdisk if u have one... you can also use partition magic to delete the C drive from windows .. ive done it that way before ..

Change booting option to boot from CD-Rom first and remember to hit any key when it tells you to.
