Can he get full-blown drunk if he wants to? BTW, I'm talking about any President of The U.S., past, present, or future, not just the current one.

Please, no political statements, I'm asking about the technicality, not your opinion on the current administration, or past administrations. Thank you so much.

Supposedly he's on the wagon so he shouldn't be drinking at all. Aside from that there is no law that prevents a president from getting hammered. It raises an interesting question though. If the president was smashed and was needed to make an important decision, could the 25th amendment be used to remove him until he sobers up?

It's legal as long as it's not in public. Only a president that is self destructive would even get intoxicated at all while in office. Perhaps a few drinks are ok but he has staff and advisors that tell him how many drinks he can have Im sure. I dont believe there is a law that I've ever heard of on that (having to do with the President).

Before the turn of the century, Bourbon was THE drink on the floors of congress, which often led to the kind of rowdiness we associate with the legislatures of other countries like Taiwan.
Now considering that George Sr. ralphed all over the Prime Minister of Japan, and that Dubya is a lame duck president on his second term, I think they expect that old drunk to get plastered.

Ulysses S Grant had the reputation as a drunk. Richard M. Nixon was known to bend an elbow. As long as they don't conduct America's business while drunk or are seen in public while under the influence, it becomes a personal matter.

I'm sure that if the president drinks, then he will for sure get drunk at some point in time. And yes I mean knee crawling drunk. And I am sure that NO one sees this as it is kept completely confidential.

A president can do whatever they want to do. In your example, discretion is important like not to show up drunk for a meeting. Who is to say otherwise?

Yes, they go to the Presidential Intoxicating Room, it's very private.

He's no longer a minor and there are safeguards built into the system in case of illness, death, etc., so I guess drunkenness would fall into the same category.

It wouldn't be wise, but he can do anything he is big enough to do, AND hope the first Lady does't put him in a doghouse on the Whitehouse lawn.

I guess that when it comes to booze, just like anyone, anything goes. Same rules applies to a normal person.
