Possession of any amount of marijuana for non-medical use by persons age 21 or older is punishable by a $600 fine or drug treatment

In many other states it is required jail time or some other kind of harsh punishment. Neveda has been decriminalized because it is only a fine.

I check NORML and they do not provide any dates. I am writing a wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decriminalization_of_cannabis_in_the_United_States) and I would like to know the dates.

I lived in L.V. for almost 20 yrs. & they didn't decriminalize it during that time. I still have lots of friends there & according to them, it hasn't happened since I left either. So the answer is..........They haven't & they won't... Just because Vegas is known (media hype) as "Sin city" doesn't mean anything goes. The only thing that is legal there that some states don't have yet is gambling. Contrary to popular belief, prostitution is illegal also at least in Clark & Washoe counties L.V. & Reno). It's not legal in any other counties either, it's just not illegal in some counties......Little update there
