I have a 3 & 4 year old, but my husband would also like to play racing games...we aren't serious gaming people but something to take the kids into their childhood...and bring back my husbands.

Gamecube for sure, mostly everyone else who answered your question answered ps2,3, or x-box systems, very bad!! no but really. A gamecube is 99$ from a local wal-mart and they also make many childrens games, like mario, animal crossing, many zelda games, super smash bros, many fun children friendly games. And I know you may go with what the majority of the people who answered your question and it wont be gamecube but you should look into it yourself believe me. The gamecube will be the best. oh and definitly has racing games=D

gamecube is also a great choice because it allows four controllers to be plugged into the main system (just like they did for N64) - but usually the system only comes with 1 controller. extra controllers are available for purchase in stores like gamestop. a memory card is required for a lot of games to play, even if you're not actually saving.

mario party games are good, i think there are like 3 for gamecube. it's a bunch of mini games, from what i understand

animal crossing is great, you are a townsperson setting up a town, and you can fish to collect fish, use your bug net to collect bugs, etc..

there are also many games that are video game collections -

megaman X collections is great, it's a great game that even though you can use passwords to get back to certain parts of the game, you can always start at the beginning and get right in on the action - the beginning story is quite short

sonic also has a number of 'collections' games

avoid longer games, rpgs, because even if they're great, you can't really play other people's files, they are normally 1 player and it takes long to play (in other words, only one person at a time) however, final fantasy crystal chronicles would have been good if you could use controllers for players 1-3 instead of the gba that is required. (so that's another bad choice)

i'm including a link to a site you're sure to be interested in - in the source area

Xbox or a PS2. They are fairly cheap, there are plenty of games for all ages on all of them, and because the games have been out for a while, you can find good new games for around $20, sometimes even less.

you won't be conscious, yet video games come out in generations. it is, say sony, nintendo, and microsoft will each and each run a gadget for awhile and then each and each placed out a clean one. whilst the hot gadget comes out, the previous kind's fee drops extensively. it is extremely fee useful to stay in the back of a era. i might bypass with a gamecube for a youthful toddler. They run approximately 29-39 money used and the titles run 5-20 for the main. you may get them used at gamecrazy interior hollywood video. The pictures are nevertheless large for an older gadget. An older toddler might get dissapointed he doesnt have the main modern-day kind....a youthful toddler probable wont comprehend the version, and can be happy to be able to have extra video games.
