Everyday for about the last week there is this odd light i see around 4 -5 pm. It is a very flat line, which glows orange underside. it starts at the sun and falls to the ground at a 30 degree angle. its always the same. It is not a plane ( no Starboard lights or anything) and it definitly isnt a cloud. and ideas?
I dont blame you if you dont believe any of this, No one thinks its anything but if you got a explanation it would help and stop me from looking for it everyday...

if its the same every day, its probably some sort of reflection off a terrestial object, or the daily alien landing

Hmmm. Are you watching this from outside or through a window? The reason I ask is that it could be a reflection on your window that occurs when the sun hits a specific angle.
Do you wear glasses? It could be the same thing only on your glasses.
Okay, if I'm not helping at all, then I'm sorry. It sounds very interesting and I think there are probably any number of naturally occurring things that would explain it.
If you give me some more details (where do you live? Where is the sun in the sky at this time? How long has this been happening? and some more details) I might be able to bring some more ideas to the e-table.

Based on your description sound like some sort of weather phenomena. At you latitude the Sun is probably low in the horizon at 4-5 pm. Is the line to the left or right of the Sun. You mention 30 deg angle? Does it move as the Sun sets? Does it changes color? Is it cloud like or just a line?
Document the best you can and contact your closest weather station or TV news weather dept. They might offer more info.

What you are describing reminds me of light or sun pillars, which is sunlight reflecting off of falling ice crystals in the higher altitudes of the atmosphere. However, these pillars usually appear to be vertical at sunrise or sunset, and you describe light "falling" at a 30 degree angle. Considering the fact that you live near Canada, and that it is also wintertime, that you are more than likely looking at light reflecting off ice crystals in the sky. This is very common in your area this time of year, as temperatures both on the surface and aloft can be extremely cold, causing these ice crystals to form. I will add a link with pictures of various atmospheric optical phenomena, which will hopefully help. This can be fun to research and observe, enjoy!

It is maybe the sun rising or the start of it rising, that would explain the glowing underside. Maybe it is your lights and the movement of the sun. Or it could be those colors you see, you know when you stare at the light too much. But best of wishes to you to find out what it is, why not go to it and see, using binoculars, telescope, etc. Or just forget about it.

it sounds like you are look at an Aurora Borealis a.k.a the northern light. they are a natural phenomenon which are found in the northern hemisphere. they can come in a variety of colors...white, green, purple, red orange ect. as the light comes in from the sun electrons enter the earth's upper atmosphere, they will encounter atoms of oxygen and nitrogen at altitudes from 20 to 200 miles above the earth's surface. The color of the aurora depends on which atom is struck, and the altitude of the meeting.
