Hello all,

I need help making a graph (using microsoft excel 2003) for my science fair project: Here's the data:

Degrees (Celcius)Voltage (Volts)
90.99
100.96
110.92
120.85
130.79
140.73
150.62
160.55
170.49
180.44
190.43
200.37
210.35
220.32
230.29
240.26
260.24
270.22
280.19
290.16
300.13
310.11
320.09
330.072
340.07
350.057
360.05
370.035
380.03
390.02
400.01

Now here's the problem. When I try to make a line graph, the x-axis only goes from 0-31. I think this is because I started from 9, but I should be able to make the x-axis 0-40 right?

SO -

How do I make the x-axis from 0-40?

There are only 31 data points. To produce a line graph that runs from 10 to 40 for these temperature readings place a second column to the left of this data column that contains the voltage used. I assume that that column will contain the numbers 10 through 40 consecutively.
Then when you produce the chart select the two columns of data insert a chart and choose the XY(scatter) chart type.

In this way you can specify the exact numbers that need to be present. In looking at the graph it appears that you skipped the reading that related to 25 volts. if the data point that would have been aligned with 25 is given a value of 26 the graph comes out smoother. I tried this because you said that you started at 9 and ran through 40. 31 readings one volt apart would only run from 9 to 39 or 10 to 40.

Right click on the axis. You should get a "format axis".
Go to the 2nd tab titled "scale"
Fix the numbers to your preference.

You mean like a pie chart? If so, go to insert, chart and pick which one you want.
