Im around 5"3, 5"4 and wear a size 14. Is that considered a plus size even though I don't look like a plus size person.

you are the same size and height as i am. And I do not consider myself a plus size. I hate to admit, but we are completely average in the grand scheme of woman's sizes. Plus sizes generally start at 16.

I can still shop in regular clothings stores, with the exception of the teeny bopper stores like abercrmobie, hollister etc. They are cut way too narrow and small for my curvy bod. But really don't care to shop there anyways.

I would not worry about it. Enjoy your body and feel great wearing whatever you want!

I think it depends on your build and body type. I'm a muscular 5'2 and wear a size six pants/skirt but a size small top. I think I would look better if I was a size four down below. Now I'm not being overly critical of myself, my rear end is starting to feel a little heavy especially when running (I'm a runner). Look at yourself in the mirror- do you have flab hanging out? Are your hips wide? Do you have a double chin? How do you feel about yourself? If you are happy with being size 14 then what the hell does it matter what we think? My friend from college is 5'4 1/2 and wears a size 10 and to me she looks normal/healthy.

If you are a size 14 and you are healthy and take care of yourself....THAT'S HOT!!!!

Look at the larger scheme of things.....there are some HUGE, UGLY PEOPLE in America, and also a whole lot of underfed white b*tches. Size 12-14 is completely average.

It is not a plus size. 16 would be though.

Dress sophisticated, and you will not have a problem finding your size. Leave the teeny bopper stores to the underfed girls.

A woman of ANY size can look sexy as hell in the right clothes.

I don't think so. Size 14 is around the average for American women. Actually, if memory serves the so-called "models" are getting heat for being too skinny and being poor role models for young girls, particularly when it comes to health.
Also, you might want to consider that the movie icons: Marilyn Monroe, Betty Gable, Veronica Lake, Mae West. There are several others who's name escapes me right now. Anyway, its not the numbers on your clothes that make you a great woman, its the integrity of your character. If you are healthy, compassionate, and have good self-esteem, these are the things that matter.
Let NO ONE, including close family insult, hurt, or intimidate you into being what THEY think you should be.
Hope this helps.

For the standard American store, size 14 and size 16 are the in between plus size and "regular" area. If I were you, I wouldn't try to think of the size of clothing you wear. I know that is hard from time to time, but to be perfectly honest, if you think you look good, then that's all that matters. Don't worry about the number, just your health. I know, you are thinking that it is easy for me to say, but I'm the same size as you. ;)

A size 12 is an average in America. You are a little above average. But you may have big bones and muscles
