A DSL connection usually runs between 100-300mbps. So, from 10-30 times faster than your 802.11b wireless connection. But it is not a bad as it sounds, because the wireless connection is constant, and the DSL only operating when you are actually upload or download from the Internet.
Consider upgrading to 802.11g to increase your speed.

Most DSL connections top out at 3-6Mbs (Megabits per second). The 11Mbs transfer rate is still about twice as fast as a fast DSL connection.

11megabits is the equivalent of 11,000 kilobits... which is 11,000,000 bits per second... divide by 8 to make it bytes...
1.375 million bytes ... divide by 1000 to kilobytes, 1375 kilobytes/second... then by 1024 for megabytes
1.34 megabytes per second download speed (most connections have slower upload speed, usually 300-700kilobit)
dsl is usually 1.5megabit when i had it through yahoo/swbell...and a 250kilbit upload. (altho it never EVER got that good of speeds... normally it was 750)
so it's way faster!
i would expect 1meg per second download speeds or ask for your money back! :)
