if you already have a dsl hub, just plug the wireless router into it's "uplink" port and run the config as above poster said. Your other machines can stay on the dsl hub.

Routers read their IP address from a DHCP server, your dsl hub is acting as a DHCP server. Once the wireless router is started up, it will translate all network activity from it's subnet into the subnet of your dsl hub, then the dsl hub will tranlsate it out to the internet.

for example:

your internet address might be something like this 69.125.125.12, your dsl hub would connect AS that IP address, all of your computers (and your wireless hub) would connect to the dsl hub/router and get an ip address (probably like 192.168.1.2 or similiar)... theoretically you could daisy chain as many routers as you want into this (adding 1 hop and more latency with each additional router) each routing to their parent's subnet.

internet <- dsl modem <- dsl router/hub <- router <- router <- router

it's important to note though, if your computers are on different routers, (and thusly different subnets) they might not see eachother without modifying your subnet mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0, but only do this if each router has it's own unique subnet and IP addresses or you'll get conflicts and it would be inoperable.

Run a network cable from the DSL hub to the download port on your router. Run a second cable from any of the other ports to you laptop. Run the set up CD that came with the router and it will set up the router to broadcast a wireless signal and set up your laptop to receive it. After the initial set up, you can can remove the cable from the router to the laptop and will not need it any more. The signal usually broadcast about 100-150 feet. If you are within range of the signal your laptop will automatically connect to it once the initial set up is done.

Plug the change instantly in to the router. it's going to artwork wonderful. Print servers might want to be extreme priced I agree. in the journey that your artwork has an previous crappy computer it truly is not getting used for something then you truthfully might want to stick that computing gadget in a nook (set up to right now log in on bootup and to close down even as the skill button is pressed) without demonstrate, keyboard or mouse merely to act as a print server.
