I usually test the ebrake once a year to make sure its working. I pulled it and released it and now the rear driverside tire is stuck. I was able to get it so the tire turns, but it heats up really fast so the brake is still stuck. Its the disk brake version where the e-brake is a drum inside the disk brake assembly. Ive tried banking it with a hammer and i didnt see anywhere to apply any degreaser to free it. I pulled on the line going to the ebrake and that didnt work either.

you'll need to have a mechanic dis-assemble the brake system to replace the bad parts. sorry.

Inside the drum are many complicated parts, but once you get the drum off, you should see exactly what's causing the brakes to hang in place. Also, if you remove the cover from above the E-brake handle, you'll see where the cables attach to a bracket and adjuster rod assembly. If anything fell in there, it would cause the brakes to hang, since they're spring retracted. The only other cause would be that the cable sleeve has debris/junk that is causing the cable to wedge tight inside the sleeve.

E-brakes and Park brakes (same thing) if they arn't used then the cables start to sieze up. If you use them all the time then they will be fine, if you don't use them, don't use them ever, not even to see if they still work. I had to do a brake job at work yesterday on a 2001 Cadilliac Escalade with rear drum brakes and the same thing was happening, its quite common for drum brakes to sieze the park brake because of non use. my suggestion is to have the park brakes repaired and then use them every time, or have it backed off so the wheel isn't locking anymore and then don't use them at all.
