Fay is the mystery woman in the hospital that Wilimena secretly talks to. She's that one woman where her entire face is wrapped up and you can only see her eyes.
We know that Mr. Bradford (Daniel's dad) tried to kill her (we don't know why yet) and some how (I think) she knew about it and was able to fake her death some how. She and Wilimena want to take over Mode and that's all we know. Bradford has a hunch that she may still be alive after the Thanksgiving brunch but he can't prove it yet. That's pretty much it.

Fay ran Mode magazine. Basically it was hers. No, I don't think she is dead.
